foto Natacha Pisarenko
An unidentified photographer prepares his antique camera to take a photo of a woman dressed in the traditional burqa in downtown Kabul, Afghanistan, Sunday, Sept. 21 2003. Under the hardline Taliban rule all women were required to wear a burqa which completely covers a woman's face. Even after the ouster of the hardline militia in 2001 many women continued to wear burqas in accordance with traditional Islamic beliefs.
